I am a professional LA-based musician and father of a three-year-old who just couldn't seem to find cool age-appropriate music for my son that I wanted to hear -- Especially over and over! So I rolled up my sleeves, went into the recording studio with a few of LA's top musicians, and created Groove Kid Nation -- an entirely new approach to introducing children to music.

The goal of Groove Kid Nation is to introduce toddlers (ages 1 and up) to the real sound of musical instruments via the grooviest children's songs you've ever heard! The tracks on my first 2 releases are rooted in classic soul - jazz, and the CDs feature some of the top sidemen in the music business with touring and recording credits including Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Beck, Seal, Joss Stone, Sting, and Herbie Hancock.

| Marvin Isley, youngest member of the soulful Isley Brothers R&B group, has died from complications with diabetes, hospital officials said Monday. He was 56. Isley passed away Sunday morning at the Seasons Hospice within Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, according to representatives at both facilities. The original group formed in 1954 with the three eldest brothers Isley -- O'Kelly Jr., Rudolph and Ronald -- which recorded several singles, including "Shout," "This Old Heart of Mine" and the Grammy-winning "It's Your Thing." Marvin Isley joined in 1973, when the group expanded to six performers. The full group enjoyed massive radio airplay with lists of hits, including "That Lady," "The Heat is On," "Go For Your Guns" and "Fight the Power." The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Marvin retired from performing five years later, and eventually diabetes led him to have both legs amputated. On November 15th 2005, BFG Records will be releasing a new album by Jermaine Stewart - best remembered for hits "Say It Again", "Get Lucky" and the perennial DJ favourite "We Don't Have To (Take Our Clothes Off)" The album is called "Attention - A Tribute To {safm}Jermaine Stewart{/safm}", and features 12 tracks, 9 of which have never before been released. The selections were recorded over Jermaine's career, closely up to his untimely passing in 1997. The project has been supervised by Jermaine's brother Gene, and proceeds from the album will go towards a headstone with photograph where Jermaine rests, as well as scholarships helping those in need.
